Moving Day

rachelbarbra:

Rachel could feel her excitement start to reach its highest point as the two of them made their way to the apartment. The box was the only thing causing her not to practically hop and skip to the door of their apartment. She grinned when he said for her to do the honors, setting the box down and reaching over, pecking him on the cheek as she took the key from his hand. “I love you,” she smiled before going to the door, sliding the key in and hearing that familiar click signaling it was unlocked. Picking up the box, her hand went to the knob and opened it, and the two of them stepped inside, Finn after Rachel.

It was completely bare, nothing left over from whoever its previous owners were and to her, that meant it was a blank slate. The two of them stood in the little area that was between the living room and the kitchen and beyond was their bedroom and another small room. It was small but bigger than their own apartments and Rachel’s favourite feature was window at the far end of their living room that had a little seat. Perfect for days to read and look over the city. “Why don’t you go and get the rest of the boxes and I can start unpacking? That way you don’t have to deal with the boring stuff.” She grinned before bending down and taking the tape off of the box she had brought in marked ‘kitchen stuff’.

He smiled at the shorter girl and followed her into the house, his hands gripping onto the box a little tighter as he gazed over the room. Woah. Sure, he’s seen the apartment a few times, but not as many times as Rachel, so it was all so brand and new to him. His grin spread even wider as he walked over to the kitchen and placed the boxes he was carrying down onto the counter. He watched as Rachel stretched down to start unpacking. “Sure thing, babe,” he smiled, and started walking back out of the apartment.

He knew that this part of their whole adventure might get a little boring after a few hours, but in the end it’ll be totally worth it. They’ll have an apartment all to themselves. No more having to go over to each others respective homes. No more nights spent alone. No more of Kurt walking in on them while they’re trying to get a second of alone time. They have all the time in the world. He kept the thought in mind as he walked down to the moving truck and quickly gathered 2 more boxes into his hands before starting back up to their new home.
